  2. radiomaru: i’m getting tired of never posting new art. (I’m drawing all the time!) On the one hand, i want everyone to be surprised and delighted by my new work when it comes out. On the other hand, i want to share the small pleasures i have in being able to draw. so anyway here’s a sketch i did of one of the characters from SECONDS. Figuring out her outfit for the chapter i’m starting today. (the book will be out Summer 2013 in US/Canada, not sure about other countries yet)

  3. フリーのページレイアウトソフトのScribusがしゅごい

    同人誌や作品集冊子作るのに良いソフトはないかな、
    でもInDesignとか買うお金はないなと思っておりましたらありました。
    フリーソフトでそういうの。こちらです。

    オープンソースのページレイアウト出来るDTPソフトですってよ奥さん。
    ツイッターですげー！ってつぶやいたらふぁぼしてくれた人がチョイチョイいるのですが多少癖があるので日本語関連と導入についてすこしまとめておきます。


    導入に関して
    インストールしたあと初めて起動すると「GhostscriptってやついれないとPDFとかEPS使えませんよ〜」という旨のダイアログが出ると思うので素直にインストールしてください。
    インストール前にあらかじめ入れててもいいと思います。

    Ghostscript本家。ダウンロードはこちらから→http://www.ghostscript.com/ 
    Macは日本の人が簡単にインストールできるようにしてくれたものもあります。こちらからダウンロードできます→http://www2.kumagaku.ac.jp/teacher/herogw/ 
    バージョン間の違いとかのアレはよくわかってないのでその辺は必要に応じて各自調べてください。


    日本語入力に関して
    海外製ソフトですが環境設定をすこしいじれば日本語表示はバッチリです。
    環境設定（Preference表示の時もある）→全般→言語「日本語」でどうぞ。

    ただ、日本語の入力に関しては少々制限があり、

    • テキストエリアに直接日本語で入力することはできない
      （ただし、テキストエリアを作成して右クリック→テキストを編集
      　→エディタが開くので日本語フォントを選択して入力、というのは可能）
    • 縦書きには対応していないので横書きのみ

    といった感じです。他にもあるかもですがデザイン畑じゃないしインデザとかの他のDTPソフトも使ったこと無いのでよくわかりません。

    自分もまだインストールしたばっかなのでいろいろ使って覚えようと思います。えへへー。

    So I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in my Ramona Flowers cosplay and I had a great time. I’m so happy my hammer came out so well so quickly. It took me about 2 days o make and it looked pretty good if I don’t say so myself. :3 

    My sisters and my friends had a lot of fun just hanging around Japan Town and taking in the sites. We ate sooooo much food! Crepes, Juban, snacks and more. I’m stuffed still!! We took pictures at Pika Pika and goofed off around the sites. Next time we probably won’t go to the Parade but just hang around Japan Town and do more photos. :) All in all, a great experience. I’m so happy I could participate this time around.

  5. radiomaru: cosmicheart: While I’m well aware that she is probably the baddest bitch in existence, I have always had this strange notion that Kim is actually this kind of secret girly-girl. Hence the pink sheets and lavender walls. this has always been one of my favorite Kristen pages. I might have to insist on pink sheets for Kim in the color version of vol 5. (also, I drew Kim in frilly pink lingerie one time, so i guess i share kristen’s ideas…) man, there’s a lot of ‘lying in beds’ in volume 5. like a LOT… never noticed that before
